Salvage Guardian Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026 · Last updated: July 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Sacred Pathway LLC ("Sacred Pathway," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Salvage Guardian, our storage-analysis and cleanup utility for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Salvage Guardian is designed to be private by default. We do not collect, sell, rent, or store your files or personal data.

The Short Version

  • Salvage Guardian analyzes files and storage locally on your device.
  • File scanning and cleanup processing happen on your device. Your files are not uploaded to us.
  • We do not collect, sell, or store your files or personal information.
  • We use no advertising and no cross-app tracking.
  • We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
  • You choose which folders or photos Salvage Guardian may access, and which items to remove.
  • Optional AI features are off by default and require your own API key.

Information We Do Not Collect

Salvage Guardian performs its storage analysis on your device. We do not operate accounts for the app, and we do not receive your files, file names, photos, folder contents, or scan results. There is no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or crash-reporting SDK embedded in the app.

Device and File Access

Salvage Guardian only accesses what you allow, and only to perform the functions you request:

  • Storage information. The app reads your device's storage capacity and free space (using Apple's system APIs) to show you how your space is used and to power low-storage indicators. This information stays on your device.
  • Folder access (Mac). On Mac, scanning is limited to folders you explicitly grant access to. Access is provided through the macOS system file picker and stored as a security-scoped bookmark so you don't have to re-grant it each launch. You can change this at any time.
  • Photo access. Photo analysis only runs after you grant Photos permission, and only to help you find items such as screenshots and large videos worth reviewing.
  • What you scan is your choice. You control which files, folders, or photos Salvage Guardian looks at.

Deleting and Recovering Files

Nothing is deleted during scanning. Salvage Guardian shows you what it found and lets you review everything first. Removal only happens after your explicit confirmation, and it uses the operating system's standard mechanisms — for example, the system deletion confirmation for photos, and the Trash/Bin on Mac — so you retain the normal recovery options the operating system provides. Salvage Guardian does not maintain its own copies of your files.

Optional AI Features

Salvage Guardian includes optional AI assistance that is disabled by default. It only works if you turn it on and provide your own API key for the AI provider (OpenAI).

When — and only when — you explicitly use the optional AI feature, the app sends the minimum information needed to answer your request to the configured AI provider: your typed question and anonymous storage totals (such as total, used, and available space). Your files, file names, folder contents, and photos are never sent. These requests are handled directly between your device and the AI provider you configured, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. If you never enable AI, no data leaves your device for this purpose.

No Tracking or Advertising

We do not track you across apps or websites, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not sell data. Salvage Guardian's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.

Children's Privacy

Salvage Guardian is a general-purpose utility rated 4+. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Salvage Guardian after an update means you accept the revised policy.
